Lawmaker Introduces Bill that Gives Rights to an Unborn Child

Lawmaker Bob Marshall introduced a bill that would set the definition of a person as beginning at conception. “In Virginia, a pregnant woman who gets in a car accident, she may not sue on behalf of wrongful death of her pre-born child and this would remedy that situation,” Marshall explained. The new legislation would give rights to an unborn child. Mississippi voters rejected the same bill just two weeks ago. According to news reports, Marshall believes the bill will pass due to the revisions he’s made. He’s filed similar bills throughout the past five years.
